  When one enters the Church on the Bayou to worship and sees the huge cross ahead, one knows that the membership must love that church very much. A small church in numbers, a huge church in heart with the love of God and His Son and His Spirit. Worship is serious,but worship is relaxing just knowing that Jesus is among us in his church.
  
  Mostly the membership consists of retirees and the friendliness and the service itself reflect the love we each have for each other. Strangers are not strangers in this church and the opportunity to make new friends is made easier after worship when the pastor, elders, deacons and the rest of us all gather for refreshments and socialization. Volunteers staff the kitchen and not only the Sunday social, but the monthly family type dinners draw us together to keep track of each other and to love each other even more.
  
  Apparently the Lord found the lovely setting along the bayou for this church, and He stays with it - guiding the various missions and community services through the generous membership. All are welcome at the Church on the Bayou and I am so proud to be a member. God bless our church and everyone who calls it home. Church on the Bayou is my family. Belva Green
